The institution has developed in response to the population's needs: from basic outpatient care to more modern service organisation, laboratory and radiological diagnostics, preventive work and healthcare support in local clinics.
Services are provided in the main building in Jajce and through a network of local clinics. The aim is to help patients find clear information more quickly: which service to contact, when it is available and which contact details to use.
Mission and vision
Our mission
Jajce Health Centre provides accessible, high-quality and responsible primary healthcare to all residents of the municipality of Jajce and nearby communities. Through professional work, a modern approach and respect for every patient's dignity, we aim to build trust, safety and continuous healthcare support for the community. We place particular emphasis on prevention, early detection of disease and improving the population's quality of life.
Our vision
Jajce Health Centre's vision is to develop a modern, digitally enhanced and patient-friendly healthcare institution that combines expertise, compassion and modern technology. We strive to create an efficient, connected healthcare system in which information, services and communication are accessible quickly, simply and transparently. We aim to be recognised as an example of high-quality public healthcare in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
History and development
History of the institution
Jajce Health Centre was founded in 1963 and has operated as an independent public institution since 2005. Over decades of service, it has remained the first point of contact for primary healthcare for the people of Jajce and nearby communities.
When it was founded in 1963, the institution was part of the “Nemanja Vlatković” Regional Medical Centre. Since 2005, when Jajce Health Centre became an independent public institution, its founder has been the Municipal Council of Jajce.
Institutional development
Clearer information and digital tools
The new website is the first step towards clearer communication with patients. Documents, the Health Hub and online appointments will be introduced gradually, while maintaining the reliability of existing services.
Investment in diagnostics and professional support
In recent years, the institution has expanded its diagnostic capacity in radiology, ultrasound, laboratory testing, panoramic dental imaging and CT support. These investments enable faster assessment, better access to examinations and a higher quality of care for patients.
According to the institutional description on the former About page, updated on 17 January 2020, services were organised through 15 units and 94 employees. That description lists the main site with three buildings at Zmaja od Bosne b.b. in Jajce and seven outpatient clinics in Vinac, Divičani, Kruščica, Barevo, Bešpelj, Vlasinje and Dobretići.
Institutional leadership
Institution Director
The Director coordinates the institution's work, oversees the organisation of healthcare and administrative processes, represents the institution in dealings with its founder and partners, and ensures continuity and quality across all services.
The Head Nurse coordinates nursing work across the institution, oversees the organisation of nursing care and provides professional support to services in their daily work with patients.
The Head Nurse's role brings together nursing staff organisation, quality of care and the practical operation of the Health Centre's services. Working with the Director, doctors and heads of service, the Head Nurse monitors work schedules, team needs, the availability of supplies and compliance with professional standards.
Her responsibilities include coordinating nurses and nursing technicians, monitoring the implementation of care standards, supporting staff education, communication between services and ensuring patients receive clear, safe and organised support. She plays a particularly important role in resolving day-to-day operational matters: schedules, cover, patient flow, documentation and cooperation between clinics, the laboratory, diagnostic services and outreach work.
The Head Nurse also helps improve service quality by monitoring patient and staff needs, proposing organisational improvements, supervising the correct implementation of nursing procedures and maintaining professional communication within the institution.
