About the service
The Specialist Consultation Service provides specialist examinations and consultations for patients referred by other services. Its work includes diagnosis, treatment, prevention and monitoring conditions within specialist healthcare.
The service connects primary healthcare with additional specialist opinions and assessment, including ENT examinations and cooperation with external specialists when needed.
The service performs the following duties: diagnosing and treating widespread non-communicable diseases, including diseases affecting all systems of the human body within the field of internal medicine; working on their primary and secondary prevention; and conducting routine examinations as needed. On referral, this service provides specialist consultation services to other services.
Service organisation
Its work is organised around specialist examinations on referral, consultations and coordination with other services. Under the staffing and organisational structure, the service covers:
- Specialist examinations and consultations, including ENT according to the service's arrangements
- Diagnosis and treatment of chronic non-communicable diseases
- Preventive work and routine health checks as needed
- Follow-up of patients referred for consultations or inpatient treatment
- Cooperation with external specialists and other services within the institution
